A Pure Devotee Does Not Accept Any Kind of Liberation

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 04:51. Filed under 3 Share Nectar | Top | End | 5 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

Followers of impersonal philosophies consider the absorption of the soul into Brahman to be supreme goal and final destination, whereas devotees of the Lord consider such position to be worse then Hell.

Srimad-Bhagavatam  3.29.13:

salokya-sarsti-samipya-
sarupyaikatvam apy uta
diyamanam na grhnanti
vina mat-sevanam janah

A pure devotee does not accept any kind of liberation--salokya, sarsti, samipya, sarupya or ekatva--even though they are offered by the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

There are five kinds of liberation -  but pure devotee do not desire any of that. If such destinations are the ultimate goal for unlimited number of impersonal transcendentalists, mystics and yogis so how is it posisble that a devotee of the Lord does not care for such a thing. When we have honey sweets we do not care for salt. Devotees have the most valuable possession - devotional service :

SB 9.4.67:

mat-sevaya pratitam te
salokyadi-catustayam
necchanti sevaya purnah
kuto 'nyat kala-viplutam

My devotees, who are always satisfied to be engaged in My loving service, are not interested even in the four principles of liberation [salokya, sarupya, samipya and sarsti], although these are automatically achieved by their service. What then is to be said of such perishable happiness as elevation to the higher planetary systems?

Five kinds of liberation look pale and tasteful in comparisson to bhakti, therefore, a  pure devotee does not accept them even they are offered by The Supreme Lord Himself.

Out of these fife sayujya mukti, or impersonal liberation  is not really a liberation because it is not a permanent position. The falldown from that platform is inevitable because bhakti is missing. The other four types can be achieved only by devotional service and on no other way.

Lord Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu summarized this attitude of pure devotees in 4.th verse of Shri Shiksastaka:

na dhanam na janam na sundarim
kavitam va jagadisha kamaye
mama janmani jamanishvare
bhavatad bhaktir ahaituki tvayi

O Lord of the universe, I do not desire material wealth, materialistic followers, a beautiful wife or fruitive activities described in flowery language. All I want, life after life, is unmotivated devotional service unto You.

We should follow this most exalted example and desire only to serve lotus feet of our spiritual master, Lord Nityananda and Lord Gauranga life after life.

The Topmost Important Principal Names of Lord Krishna

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 04:13. Filed under 7 NG Naam | Top | End | 5 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

Just as there is gradation in the spiritual world, from Vaikuntha planets to Vrinadavana and eternal Navadvipa, so there is a gradation of the Lord's Names.

Vaishnavas accept chanting of personal Names of God to be the most exalted process. Such Names are called mukhyan, principal Names. In order to understand that, let us give some examples. For example, Mr.Smith may be a successful businessman and at his workplace they will call him -  Director, President, Chief etc. But when Mr. Smith comes home after work, his sons are running to embrace him and call him"Daddy, Daddy you came!", his friends call him by his nick-name, and his wife in the evening whispers different tender, sweet names to him. Similarly, God has different Names, and only personal Names are considerd to be principal, mukhyan Names.

Prabhasa Khanda of Padma Purana states:

namnam mukhyataram nama, krsnakhyam me parantapa;
prayascittam asesenam papanam mocakam param.

"O Arjuna, the Holy of Krishna is the most principal
(mukhyataram) among all Names of God. One can atone
for unlimited sinful deeds by chanting the Name of Krishna
which is the supreme destroyer of all sins."

The Lord has unlimited numbers of principal names like Vishnu, Narayana, Ramachandra, Vasudeva, etc. but the Holy Name of Krishna is unique because it is the most principal Name of all principal Names. But , gradation in love reaches far more further - unto unselfishness and giving - Gaura-lila.

krsna-caitanyeti nama, mukhyan mukhyatamam prabhoh;
helaya sakrd uccarya, sarva-nama-phalam labhet.

"The Holy Name Krsna Chaitanya or Gauranga is the
topmost or the most principal (mukhyan) even among all
the important primary and most principal (mukhyatamam)
Holy Names of the Lord Krsna. By chanting this name just
once, a person attains the spiritual results (punya) of
chanting all the other holy names of the Lord."

This is the peak of transcendental understanding that the topmost among all the important and most principal Holy Names is  - krsna-caitanyeti nama - the name of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Lord Gauranga is Lord Shri Krishna Himself, and externally non-different from His Holy Name, therefore in this verse it is stated that by chanting Lord Gauranga's Holy Name just once, a person gets benefits of chanting all the other Names of the Lord.

Gauranga-The Supreme Personality of Godhead

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 03:01. Filed under 3 Share Nectar | Top | End | 1 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

Sometimes persons are asking - Why do you consider Lord Nityanada, or Lord Gauranga to be the Supreme? What is your definition of God? How do you know that Krishna is God?

Shrila Prabhupada often used the term "Supreme Personality of Godhead" in his books.  We may understand that phrase  if we consider the separate meaning of words - God must be a person and He must be the Supreme. That is the definition of God. The personality of God must be something unique and in English it can't be  described as such. The Sanskrit word for describing God is Bhagavan. Only God is Bhagavan, or full of all opulences. What does that mean?

aisvaryasya samagrasya   viryasya yasasah sriyah
jnana-vairagyayos caiva    sannam bhaga itingana

"Full wealth, strength, fame, beauty, knowledge and renun- these are the six opulences of the Supreme Personality of Godhead."
Vishnu Parana 6.5.47

We can see that in this world there are many very famous, strong or wealthy persons but God must be someone who possesses  such qualities in the largest amount.  Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu showed  mother Saci the entire universes within his mouth while He was sitting in her lap, just like Lord Krishna did in His pastimes. He possesses all, spiritual and material worlds, therefore we must accept that He is the wealthiest person. All other qualities like strength, fame, beauty etc. are similarly fully manifested in the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

These opulence are present in living beings only in a small parts that originally come from the Lord Himself, who possesses those qualities in full. That is the reason why He is known as the all-attractive Lord, Gauranga-Krishna.

True Association With Spiritual Master Through Service

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 02:29. Filed under 3 Share Nectar | Top | End | 4 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!
Our true association with spiritual master is only through our service. The major goal of our life is that we should try to serve our spiritual master. Actually, we are not qualified to serve him directly - therefore, we are trying to serve his instructions, and his disciples. In that way, through vani-seva and vaishnava seva, we may try to satisfy our spiritual master.

We may learn so much through the examples of previous Acharyas. Shrila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada accepted instructions of his spiritual master Shrila Bhaktisidhantha Saraswati Thakura as his life and soul and served him through fulfilling those instructions. Our Gurudeva is so dedicated in fulfilling the instructions of his spiritual master Shrila Bhaktishastri Parampada Maharaja and previous Acharyas,  fulfiling their desire to spread the divine Names of Nitaai and Gaura along with the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. He is living solely for that purpose.

We should also try to serve our Gurudeva by following his desires, his instructions. If we may somehow help him in his service to his spiritual master and previous Acharyas, we only then may consider this life a success. We do not have any access to serve Lord  directly, the  spiritual master is our only link, our only access point, the connection with the Lord.

When we are trying to serve and help his disciples in their service,  when we accept his desire as our life and soul, we may understand that he is always with us, even  if he may be physically thousands miles from us. When we are following his desire,  surrender to this mission, we may see that we are automatically connected with the highest source, the spiritual realm.

We should always try to serve other disciples in their service to the spiritual master, our Gurudeva. If we can all together do any service it will bring great happiness to our spiritual master. We should understand that on an absolute level there is no distinction in service, only harmony and many different units are serving One Supreme Unit. Every, even most insignificant service is most glorious and it is  part of the great mosaic meant to bring happiness to the Lord and His Associates. It is quite opposite from the material world where everybody wants to be the greatest and first in everything. In spiritual life we are trying to make others closer to the spiritual master in order to help him in his service to the Lord. That is the  sum and substance of our devotional life.

I just wanted to express my feelings and understanding of this topic with the desire to inspire other disciples of my Gurudeva in their glorious service to him.

Other Benefits of Observing Shri Baladeva Purnima [A]

Bhaktiratna Sadhu Swami
by @ 22:46. Filed under Festivals | Top | End | 26 views | Tags: | | Reply

The most important purpose of worshiping Lord Balarama on His Divine Appearance Day is to attain Krishna Prema or Pure Love for the two Divine Brothers. The scriptures mention other results which are attained as side-benefits of worshiping the Lord on Shri Nityananda Trayodashi, which are also attained on Shri Baladeva Purnima, since Lord Nityananda and Lord Baladeva are the very same person. They are as follows:

In a conversation between Brahma and Narada found in the  Skanda Purana the secondary creator of the universe says: O Narada, if one desires to reside with Lord Visnu in His transcendental abode, or if he desires to beget good children and acquire wealth, then he should take a morning bath on Nityananda Trayodashi every year. Simply by thinking about following this vrata, all the reactions to the sinful activities one committed during his previous one hundred lifetimes are destroyed. Let those who want to go to the heavenly planets without giving in charity a cow, land, sesame seeds, cloth, gold or food grains take an early morning bath on Trayodashi in the month of Magha.

Those who do not take a bath, give charity, or perform other such auspicious activities on this day  are said to enjoy sex with a dog-eater woman and then suffer  in the hell known as Raurava. Anyone who strictly follows this vrata becomes happy in this life and then goes to the abode of  Lord Vishnu after death.

The demigods have said that those who do not take  a morning bath, give charity, or perform other auspicious activities on this day are cursed by them and thus face  inauspiciousness, a short duration of life, and infertility.

A fortunate lady who fasts on this day and reads the Bhagavad-gita is awarded the merit of performing a horse sacrifice. One who bathes Lord Nityananda Balarama on this day  while chanting the Visnu-sahasra-nama attains the abode of Lord Visnu. One who hears Shrimad-Bhagavatam will remain untouched by sin, just as a lotus leaf is untouched by water.

Previously, when all the holy places became contaminated by the association of sinful people, they prayed to the Supreme Lord. In response Lord Balarama appeared as Lord Nityananda and purified all the holy places by visitingthem. By performing abhisekha, worshiping Lord Nityananda Balarama and chanting His glories on this day, one can attain unalloyed devotional service. When one observes this vrata and glorifies  Lord Nityananda Balarama, all his sinful reactions are destroyed and he attains prosperity. Those who hear these glorious topics are awarded knowledge of devotional service and devotion to the spiritual master. For those who follow this vow while chanting  the holy name of Lord Hari, the ocean of material existence shrinks to become like the water in a calf's hoof print. There is no doubt that by Lord Nityananda Balarama's mercy such persons attain the supreme abode.

Rebirth as inanimate being possible? [A]

20090404
by @ 20:24. Filed under 2 QnA | Top | End | 32 views | | | Reply

Dear Nitaiyoga Community,
I offer my respectful obeisances. I read in a booklet that the deity of Nrsimhadeva in Mayapur was made from a living stone. Is it possible to take birth as a stone? Thank you.
Arnold.

Answer:

The Stone becomes Living when the Lord is invited into the Stone by a Pure Devotee. The Lord does not take birth as a stone except for the Shaligram stone found in the Gandaki river in Nepal but He enters into the stone, wood, metal, earth, paint, sand, the mind or jewels when He is invoked into any of them by a realized devotee of the Lord and begins accepting the worship of the devotees in His Archa Vigraha form of the Deity.

Nitaai Gaura Hari Naam is Constantly Performed in the Spiritual World

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 19:59. Filed under 7 NG Naam | Top | End | 3 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

The process of chanting Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna Maha Mantra is eternally blissful and effulgent, joyfully and above all constantly performing in the spiritual world.

When the King is in the palace, there are always numerous poems, songs and celebrations of his glory. Similar, in the spiritual world, there is constant glorification of the Lord, and the nature of that glorification depends on the exact spiritual planet or realm.

In Vaikuntha planets Lord Narayana is worshiped by thousands Goddesses of Fortune, in Goloka Vrindavana, Shri Shri Radha Krishna are enjoying in their eternal loving pastimes, and in Navadvipa Lord Gauranga is siting on the golden throne and is worshiped by His pure devotees who are singing His glories. Kirtans are always on, karatals are playing, mridangas are roaring and everywhere the chanting of His Names "Gauranga, Gauranga"can be heard.
So, this process of chanting is eternal, itdoes not belong to this mundane realm. It is not from this plane. Souls in this material world are bewildered by maya, the illusory energy of the Lord and therefore has no knowledge of a spiritual world existing.

If we want to stop this influence of illusion, we must connect ourselves to that higher realm, to the spiritual platform. We can not subdue the influence of illusory energy on our own. It is not possible.

maya-mugdha jivera nahi svatah krsna-jnana
jivere krpaya kaila krsna veda-purana

"The conditioned soul cannot revive his Krsna consciousness by his own effort. Therefore, by His causeless mercy, Lord Krsna compiled the Vedic literature and its supplements, the Puranas."

Chaitanya Charitamrta Madhya 20.122

That connection is possible via chanting Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna, because such chanting is not from this temporary realm, but from the eternal dimension, the spiritual world.

golokera prema dhana hari nama sankirtana

It is described that this process of sankirtan came directly from the highest plane of divine love - Goloka Vrindavana. This process of chanting is so powerful that it can give the Supreme Lord Himself, and unalloyed devotional service to Him. It is so unique that the Lord Himself appeared to take participation in His own glorification. Therefore let us take full shelter in this Nitaai-Gaura-Harinaam sankirtana mission and chant Nityananda,Gauranga and Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Perfection in Life in Just Two Seconds

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

All shastras are pointing toward one direction - find and associate with saintly persons, with pure devotees of the Lord. Just one moment called lava-matra of such holy association may change your life forever.

sadhu-sanga, sadhu-sanga — sarva-sastre kaya
lava-matra sadhu-sange sarva-siddhi haya

Shri Chaitanya-Charitamrta Madhya 22.54

“The verdict of all revealed scriptures is that by even a moment’s association with a pure devotee, one can attain all success.”

Why is such association so powerful?

We are born ignorant, fallen and totally blind upon eternal truths. The truth about us is that we  do not know any truth. We are born in the plane of lies. But if we, somehow or other associate with persons who are connected with the realm of happiness and eternity, we will also become happy. Association is just like a mirror, you may always see the reflection of the other person within yourself.

The only channel of mercy is trough service and association with pure devotees, sadhu-seva and sadhu-krpa. First we should engage in sadhu-seva. We should serve devotees, holy persons.  Such service is even more exalting then direct personal service to the Lord.

ye me bhakta-janah' partha, na me bhaktas" ca te janah
mad-bhaktanam' ca ye bhaktas, te me bhakta-tama matah

Chaitanya Charitamrta Madhya 11.28.

"Lord Krishna told Arjuna, 'Those who are My direct devotees are actually not My devotees, but those who are the devotees of My servant are factually My devotees.'

If we humbly serve devotees of the lord, we will attain sadhu-krpa. Krpa means mercy. With the blessings of devotees, we will attain everything, even the Supreme Lord Shri Krishna. That is the power of pure devotes.
krishna se tomara krishna dite paro
tomara shakati yache
ami to kangala krishna krishna boli
dui tava pache pache

Devotees are the life and soul of the Supreme Lord and the Supreme Lord is the life and soul of devotees. If we associate with such a person, we will naturally be invited into that circle of love. If we try to help a devotee to satisfy the Lord, or help the Lord to satisfy His dear devotee, we will be succesfull in our mission of life. We will attain, by the mercy of Shri Guru, vaishnavas and ShriGauranga Mahaprabhu highest devotion and joy of eternal service.

We should use this www.nitaaiyoga.com as great opportunity to listen, associate, write, serve, ask devotees of the Lord. We should understand that each and every person on this site is so rare. How many jivas are in this universe, from microbes, ants, animals to celestial beings and demigods? We can not imagine how many jivas are in this material world? And how many persons are listening and speaking about Nityananda and Gauranga and chanting and hearing  Their Holy Names? Therefore we must understand and act in that way, that every person who manifests here is pious and a holy person because at least he or she inquires and listens about Nityananda and Gauranga. In that way, by inspiring and helping each other, we may advance in this spiritual life, help our Gurudeva in His preaching activities and attain the highest goal of life - pure love for Lord.

Two Ways of Avoiding the Ten Offenses When Chanting The Hare Krishna Maha Mantra

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 16:36. Filed under 3 Share Nectar | Top | End | 5 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

The greatest obstacles in the achievement of Krishna-prema are the ten offenses in the chanting  the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra.

There are two ways how we can overcome this enormous obstacle. One way is described in the Hari-nama-chintamani, where Namacharya Shrila Haridasa Thakura explains to us:

avisranta name nama-aparadha jaya;
tahe aparadha kabhu sthana nahi paya.

"Only by continuous chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra day and night can the ten offenses against Krishna's Name be obliterated. By the constant chanting of Krishna's Name, the ten offenses will not be able to again implicate the chanter."

This is the long, almost impossible path for an ordinary conditioned soul.
Only the person who can chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra day and night with great feeling can destroy the ten offenses. That is the verdict of Shrila Haridasa Thakura. But who can accomplish that in this fallen Age? Almost nobody! And those who may accomplish surely are not conditioned souls of this material world. So, if a person can not chant Hare Krishna Maha Mantra constantly, with loving ecstasy and full concentration, he or she must understand that it is simply impossible to overcome mountains of offenses commited in chanting.

But, fortunate for us, there is also another, secret shorcut-way, described in many scriptures like Chaitanya Bhagavata, Chaitanya-Charitamrita and Navadvipa-Dhaam-Mahatmya.

chaitanya-nityanande nahi esaba vicara,
nama laite prema dena, vahe asrudhara.

Chaitanya Charitamrta Adi 8.31

"But if one chants, with only some slight faith, the two holy names of Lord Gauranga and Nityananda, very quickly he or she is quickly cleansed of all offenses. Since in the chanting of the names of Nityananda and Gauranga there is no consideration of offenses, one will very quickly come to the stage of love of God, simply by chanting Their names and tears of pure love for Krishna will flow from the eyes."

Within this verse in condensed form, the whole process of chanting Nitaai and Gaura Naam is described. This chanting is so powerful that there is no consideration of offenses, and the sadhaka is lifted to the stage of pure chanting due to the merciful nature of Nitaai and Gaura Naam which are non-different from Lord Nityananda and Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu Themselves.

There are two ways of crossing over the mountain of offenses in the chanting of Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. If we have a realistic view about our capacity and condition we will realize that the only way for us to attain that pure chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra is by first take full shelter in regular chanting Nitaai and Gaura Naam.

Why Am I Not Happy?

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 15:03. Filed under 3 Share Nectar | Top | End | 4 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

An intelligent person might ask itself - "Why am I not happy?". If a person thinks that it is happy in this material world and not engaged in devotional service  he or she is under influence of maya, the  illusory energy of the Lord.

Everyday so many energy is invested  just to attain happiness. We can see it practically. But who is happy? Really happy? Even the richest persons in the world are committing suicide or are suffering from painful deceases. If there is some happiness, it is changeable, not permanent :

matra-sparsas tu kaunteya
sitosna-sukha-duhkh
a-dah
agamapayino 'nityas
tams titiksasva bharata

Bhagavad Gita 2.14.

TRANSLATION

"O son of Kunti, the non-permanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed."

Everybody is trying to find a permanent solution, just somehow to go on with life and not undergo  pains of trials and hard times. But that is simply  not possible. Even a minister of government or a famous pop-star are suffering in this world. TV, media, internet are just presenting "make-up", nicely wrapped illusion. Everyday we are bombed with thousands of advertisements how to finally find and increase our enjoyment, but all what we are really increasing is our frustration.

What is the core reason for this suffering? We have not realized the basic point.

dehino 'smin yatha dehe
kaumaram yauvanam jara
tatha dehantara-praptir
dhiras tatra na muhyati

Bhagavad Gita 2.13.

TRANSLATION

"As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A self-realized soul is not bewildered by such a change. "

We are all spiritual souls, not mere matter or this body. And our happiness will never be fulfilled by only trying to satisfy this body and senses. It is simply not possible. Fish is an water animal, and if you put it outside of water it will not be happy even if you try to entertain it by playing nice music, give it apple juice and access to super fast internet. That will be no help. The only what helps the fish is to bring it back to water. Then it will be happy again, swimming and doing whatever fish are doing.

Similar, we are here in this mundane realm, but we do not belong here. We are meant for eternal happiness and bliss, but are trapped in dungeon of sorrow and ignorance.

We are constantly  agitated in this material world - by various diseases, pains of the body, then there are numerous troubles caused by other beings like our enemies, relatives, neighbors, taxes and government, and there are problems caused by nature like floats, hot sun or cold winters. An intelligent person will try to find some answers to such questions. That is the beginning of spiritual life.

When the person understands that he or she is in fact a spiritual soul - the inquiry will rise even more - "What are my activities as a spiritual soul? Who is God? Do I have any connection with Him? Where do I belong as a spiritual soul etc?" All these questions have perfect answers in devotional philosophy. Devotional service is the only science and knowledge that may give answers to any question or inquiry.

If a person really understands these basic points it will naturally start to chant Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna Maha Mantra because it is a natural occupation of the soul. That is our real happiness that we were trying to find for millions of births. And we are given this super fast elevator to the spiritual world in form of chanting. If we surrender ourselves to this process we will forever leave this miserable plane of tears and sorrow.

Nitaai Veda- The Knowledge for Future Generations

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 14:07. Filed under 3 Share Nectar | Top | End | 6 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

Vedic knowledge surpasses time since when it had appeared. Today we are reading texts that manifested thousands years ago and still we are getting essential spiritual instructions. This Nitaai Veda, Comprehensive Vedic Knowledge Base for future generations, has one quality that no other Veda has - exclusive and elaborate information about Lord Nityananda, Lord Gauranga and the process of chanting Their Names.

This Age is very special because Shri Shri Gaura-Nitaai appeared due to Their mercy and compassion. That is very, very rare. This Nitaai Veda will preserve valuable information for future generations and will bestow pure transcendental knowledge to unlimited number of souls.

"Many devotees of Lord Chaitanya like Shrila Vrindavana dasa Thakura, Shri Locana dasa Thakura, Shrila Krishnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami, Shri Kavikarnapura, Shri Prabodhananda Sarasvati, Shri Rupa Gosvami, Shri Sanatana Gosvami, Shri Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Shri Jiva Gosvami, Shri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami, Shri Raghunatha dasa Gosvami and in this latter age within two hundred years, Shri Visvanatha Cakravarti, Shri Baladeva Vidyabhushana, Shri Syamananda Gosvami, Shri Narottama dasa Thakura, Shri Bhaktivinoda Thakura and at last Shri Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura (our spiritual master) and many other great and renowned scholars and devotees of the Lord have prepared voluminous books and literature about the life and precepts of the Lord.

All of such literature is  based on the sastras like the Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata and other histories and authentic literature approved by the recognized acharyas. They are unique in composition and unrivaled in presentation, and they are full of transcendental knowledge. Unfortunately  people of the world are still ignorant to them, but when these literature, which are mostly in Sanskrit and Bengali, come to light the world and when they are presented before those  people thinking, then India’s glory and the message of love will overflow this morbid world, which is vainly searching for peace and prosperity by various illusory methods, not approved by the acharyas in the chain of disciplic succession."

from Introduction to Shrimad-Bhagavatam, Shrila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

This Nitaai Veda is full of nectar words of pure devotees and previous acharyas, spiritual questions and answers, numerous volumes of precious devotional literature. By it self, only the study of this Nitaai Veda is enough to elevate an ignorant person to the level of a pure devotee because by reading words from previous acharyas and pastimes of the Lord, even the most sinful persons may start  chanting Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna.

In Bhagavad Gita 15.15, Lord Krishna is saying to Arjuna:

sarvasya caham hrdi sannivisto
mattah smrtir jnanam apohanam ca
vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyo
vedanta-krd veda-vid eva caham

TRANSLATION

"I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas I am to be known; indeed I am the compiler of Vedanta, and I am the knower of the Vedas."

Shrila Sacchidananda Bhaktivinoda Thakura wrote that there is an extremely important need to compile all  valuable devotional literature and make them available to all the souls as quickly as possible, and this Nitaai Veda is the personification and fulfillment of his desire.

We should invest our energy and time to read, learn, discuss, distribute this most exalted source of knowledge and devotion. There was never in history, so much devotional literature on one place, easily attainable, only per one click.

There is a proverb that knowledge is power. Nitaai Veda is such knowledge that has the power to elevate us and send us directly to the spiritual world.

Nitaai Naam Does Not Distinguish Between the Good and the Bad

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

preme matta nityananda krpa-avatara,
uttama, adhama, kichu na kare vicara
ye age padaye, tare karaye nistara,
ataeva nistarila mo-hena duracara

Chaitanya Charitamrta Adi 5.209

TRANSLATION

"Because He is intoxicated by ecstatic love and is an incarnation of mercy, He does not distinguish between the good and the bad. He delivers all those who fall down before Him. Therefore He has delivered such a sinful and fallen person as me. "

This verse is spoken by Madhai after Lord Nityananda showed exstraordinary mercy to him. We must understand what is the unique quality of Lord Nityananda.

He is so absorbed in transcendental loving service that He is  transcendentally mad, premme matta, and in that trance He does not distinguish between the good and the bad.

In this verse He is addressed as the incarnation of mercy, krpa-avatara. Why? Because He is the only shelter for fallen persons like Jagai and Madhai. Even Lord Gauranga in His lila wanted to punish Jagai and Madhai with His Sudarshana chakra, but Lord Nityananda gave them His shelter. That is unique. We deeply must understand that.

His Holy Name - Nityananda is also the most merciful Name. We are just like Jagai and Madhai - we are constantly making ofenses in chanting Hari Naam, in His worship. Actually we are not fit for that service. We do not have qualifications. Our only hope is Nitaai Naam, because Nitaai Naam does not consider any distinction  between the good and the bad, fallen and pure. That Nitaai Naam is so merciful, so intoxicated with prema that a person who chants it immediately becomes filled with genuine feelings for Krishna.

The Real Enemies are Within Us

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

There are many enemies in this world - thieves, money debts, economical crisis and unlimited numbers of various calamities. In this world a person is almost always agitated, by heat or cold, by other beings, insects, bodily pains, family members and hard struggle for bare survival.

But, despite all such troubles that are chasing us, the real enemies are actually within us.

kama esa krodha esa
rajo-guna-samudbhavah
mahasano maha-papma
viddhy enam iha vairinam

Bhagavad-gita 3.37.

TRANSLATION

" It is lust only, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material modes of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring, sinful enemy of this world."

In this world we are troubled by so many internal enemies that are much more dangerous then all the calamities of the external world. We are like mighty Arjuna on the battle of Kuruksetra with his bow Gandiva in a hand opposing great and mighty enemies - lust, anger, greed, insanity, illusion, hate, hesitation etc. Sometimes it seems impossible to conquer such strong enemies, but we can do it easily if we follow the example of Arjuna :

sarva-dharman parityajya
mam ekam saranam vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo
moksayisyami ma sucah

Bhagavad Gita 18.66.

TRANSLATION

Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear.

By taking the bow of surrendering and devotional service, and arrows of Holy Names we can easily defeat dangerous monsters and enemies like lust, greed, insanity and illusion.

The Hidden Identity of Lord Gauranga and His Name

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 20:56. Filed under 7 NG Naam | Top | End | 12 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

Lord Chaitanya manifested Himself in this mundane realm in order to relish pure devotional service unto Him, Lord Shri Krishna, and to deliver the fallen souls. He came as a hidden incarnation even He is the source of all incarnation - svayam Bhagavan ,the Supreme Personality of Godhead. His identity is hidden, as is confirmed in Adi and Narada Purana:

adi-purane narada-purane ca

aham eva dvija
-srestho
nityam pracchanna-vigrahah
bhagavad-bhakt
a-rupena
lokam raksami sarvada

"I shall advent in the form of a Brahmana devotee and I shall hide my factual identity. I shall deliver all the worlds."

In this verse dvija-srestho indicates the appearance of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who appeared as the son of Jagganatha Misra and Mother Sacidevi. The words nityam pracchanna-vigrahah are very important and should be properly understood. The Lord is saying here that He will hide His identity, He will act in the role of a devotee and His identity will be hidden. That off course aplies to the jubilant Gaura-lila that very few persons knew that Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu was actually Lord Shri Krishna Himself.

But, the pastimes of the Lord have many dimensions. They are always new and ever-expanding. When you want to find someone you first must know his Name. That is the most important part of identity. And here the Lord is saying that His identity will be hidden.

First, He has a hidden identity but propagated the chanting of His Own Names - Hare Krishna. Then,  His identity as Lord Krishna Chaitanya became well known, but the true identity of His Own Name Gauranga is still hidden for the majority of devotees and people in general. Therefore, we must understand that the Lord is still playing the role of hiding His identity because He is Non different from His Name. That is the wonderful lila of the Lord.

But pure devotees, headed by Lord Nityananda Prabhu broke this secret and distributed it freely to all, by saying - "O please hear this secret -Lord Chaitanya and His On Name Gauranga are non different! If you chant His Name pure prema will come after you! Please chant - Gauranga, Gauranga!"

This Nitaai-Gaura-Harinaam Sankirtana movement will keep to grow and attract unlimited numbers of souls that will attain highest spiritual gift by accepting and chanting Nitaai and Gaura Naam along with Hari Naam and in that way the Lord will deliver all the worlds as He predicted in this verse.

The Nectar of Transcendental Quarrels

Ishana Thakura dasa
by @ 20:29. Filed under NG Tattva | Top | End | 11 views | | | Reply

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

There are many wonderful pastimes of Lord Nityananda and Lord Gauranga. We should always drink the nectar of such unlimited pastimes. Specially Lord Nityananda Prabhu, intoxicated with love for Krishna, acted in a half-mad way, like avadhuta. Almost none could not understand His activities.

One day Lord Gauranga personally said to Lord Nityananda - "O, you are always restless and act in mischievous ways in Shrivase’s home. Please don’t act on such improper manner."

By hearing that Lord Nityananda remembered Lord Krishna in Vrindavana and replied to Lord Gauranga - "You are thinking that others are acting in a childish way because you are that Krishna Himself, always the restless cowherd boy of Vrindavana, Now you are talking that I am making some problems? You go to every home  and throw food stuffs like butter and yogurt everywhere,
This is the activity of madman and Your trick of depriving Me of eating my rice. Actually you don't want to feed Me and You are enjoying delicious foodstuffs by Yourself alone. "

The same transcendental quarreling that go on in Krishna-lila between Lord Balarama and Lord Krishna,  also go on between Lord Nityananda and Lord Gauranga.

By hearing the words of Lord Nityananda, Gaurasundara replied that if Nityananda is dishonored in anyway by anyone because of his restless activities, then He  will feel very embarrassed. Therefore He wanted to teach Nityananda some proper manners.

Lord Nityananda joyfully answered to Lord Gauranga that He is restless in divine love! - and immediately started to laugh very loudly.

Lord Gauranga wanted to 'teach Lord Nityananda proper manners', because once, being intoxicated with pure love, Lord Nityananda Prabhu removed His clothing dress and tied it on His head and on that way that He became totally naked. He started to laugh very loudly and jump here and there. Then he started to roll on the ground, roaring like a lion in transcedental ecstasy, withouth any cloths.

Then Lord Gauranga called out ‘Oh, what are you doing Nitai! What are You doing Nitai! This is not proper behaviour! Just a few moments ago You said    that You are not mad but now you are contradicting Your own words!" Only Lord Gauranga was able to control Lord Nityananda Prabhu who was always emerged into pure ecstasy of divine madness.

What a wonderful scene to see the two Lords, Nityananda-Balarama and Gauranga-Krishna in this transcendental quarrel. Let us always drink the nectar of the sublime divine pastimes of Lord Nityananda and Lord Gauranga.

Lord Gaurachandra-the Giver of Pure Love

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nitaai Gaura Hari Naama Sankirtan ki Jaya! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All Glories to Shri Guru Parampara!

ananda-lilamaya-vigrahaya
hemabha-divyach-chavi-sundaraya
tasmai maha-prema-rasa-pradaya
caitanya-chandraya namo namas te

Shri Chaitanya Chandramrta, verse 11

"Obeisances unto Him, Sri Caitanya-chandra, the giver of the mellow of the highest love of Godhead, who is the embodiment of blissful pastimes, and who is so beautiful, having a dazzling luster, like gold."

The beauty of Lord Chaitanya is so wonderful that it surpasses all mundane understandings and in His transcendental Form Lord is shining like millions of moons together. Thus, the Supreme Lord is in this verse addressed like Chaitanyachandra. The word chandra means - moon. That indicates that the Lord's beauty,as well as the unique quality of giving and sustaining devotees' life is just like a shining moon  giving nectar to the plants. Similar, by regular chanting of his Holy Name bhakti-lata, a plane of devotion may grow without any hindrances because insects and bugs of anarthas and aparadhas are fully neutralized by the shining rays of Chaitanyachandra.

His pastimes are unlimited and eternal, ever-expanding and fresh, and Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu is the embodiment of all such pastimes because He is Shri Shyamasundara, the  stealer of Radha's heart Himself.

The word maha-prema-rasa-pradaya is very significant in this verse. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is the giver of the highest prema, the mellow of the highest love of Godhead. He is giving the  rarest crest jewel of devotion trough chanting of His Own Holy Name - Gauranga. That is one of the reasons why He is addressed in this verse as the giver of the highest prema.
