It is my understanding that a disciple should offer service to Gurudeva for advancement in bhakti. For Western countries we can zoom into our individual houses on google world, but India hasnt yet been zoomed in on. It only shows from a distance, it will be great when Google World shows corect mapping of India, it is hard to find relevant or informative maps there, they are alot based around speculations rather than facts or rather basic.
It is so good seeing Swami Gaurangapada breaking the mould and moving with the times with his fantastic website and use of technology to establish facts about the Lord, shaking off things the world has outgrown, unbound by the sentimentality and the stubborn refusal to move forward that beleaguers so many faiths in Kali Yuga.

I have read that one's Guru is a manifestation of Lord Nityananda. But it only recently that I have had a realization of this. By seeing your nature one can see this. You freely give initiation and shelter to anyone without considering whether they are qualified or not. You are a pure soul who has seen the Truth, you have already attained perfection yet you go out of your way by burdening yourself with the heavy task of guiding dull minded persons such as me. And you do this without any consideraton for yourself and without asking anything in return for the guidance, website and teachings. I am very unqualified and undeserving. You don't even put the restriction of 16 rounds of Hare Krishna for accepting a disciple to give them Ashraya Diksha. You accept any soul in order to get them to chant the Nityananda and Gauranga Mantrarajas so that they lives can be blissful. I would like to share my experiance of Lord Nityananda's mercy with all devotees.
One fortunate day,Gurudev mercifully told me that if I listen to the Supreme Glories of Lord Nityananda,He will have mercy on me. I listened to the nectarian discourse given by Gurudev from Chaitanya Bhagvata on Supreme Glories of Lord Nityananda. The very next day,Lords Nitai Gauranga had mercy on me,photo frame Panchatattva performing kirtana along with RadhaRasbihariji arrived on my altar.
Some weeks later I got Typhoid.Sitting at home I decided to listen to the Supreme Glories of Lord Nityananda again. As I was listning, due to some exertion my temperature began to rise and it crossed 104.I thought I was finished,I began to pray to Lord Nityananda in desperation.I could listn to the Suprme Glories of Lord Nityananda sleeping on the bed,I couldnt even open my eyes and mouth.Desperately, I prayed to Lord Nityananda to save me. Supremely Merciful Lord Nityananda saved this fallen soul from sure death.As the discourse ended my temperature dropped to 102.
The next night again my temp started rising.My father started applying cold and wet cloth on my head but the cloth used to heat up.Nothing was working not even the Typhoid antibiotcs. At that point my temp again crossed 104 and also I had difficulty breathing hence I again felt that this is it.This time I was not listning to anything hence I was more scared.Mentally I started praying desperately and intensely to Lord Nityananda fully convinced that I have no other way,other than surrendering to His Lotus feet.Supremely Merciful Lord Nityananda again glanced mercifully on me and saved me from certain death.
The next day Gurudev mercifully offered special prayers to Lord Nityananda for my recovery. That same day a miraculous thing happened,I had 102+temp and I felt perfectly normal-no bodyache,no headache no feeling cold and no weakness.The doctor was puzzled.After the reports came which showed the exact strain of Typhoid the doctor told me that I was very fortunate that the fatal disease left me within 4-5 days,usually people have to stay for 3 weeks at home. I also thank Gauranga dasi who talked to me during my illness.
What happened to the Antibiotics where were they when I had 104+, what was the effect of my bodily resistance against diseses,what was the effect of that cold strip on my head? All failed. ONLY the Supreme Mercy of Lords Nitai-Gauranga saved me from death.
From this I learnt that all material things might leave you one day but the Lord is so mercifull that He will never leave your side He is always there.Out of His causeless mercy He protects us at each and every point.I realise that the very air I breathe now is due to His mercy.
By mercifully allowing me to chant Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krishna He has saved this fallen degraded soul from eternal destruction. I offer my fallen dandavats to Lords Nityananda Gauranga and all devotees,by the mercy of Lord Nityananda may I serve all devotees till this breath is in my body. Due to mercy of Lords Nitai-Gauranga now I could reach Harinama stage of chanting.3 months ago I could hardly chant 1 round of Hare Krishna Mahamantra.
Although I am a neophyte and very ignorant but I still humbly request all devotees to listen to the Supreme Glories of Lord Nityananda atleast once.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to explain a little of how I am able to attain daily the chanting of 100,000 Holy Names, of which is purely by the supreme mercy of Shri Nityananda Prabhuji.
As I thought on this, I came to realize that my own personal condition is unique in that this body has become sick and ill by the will of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Shri Nityananda Prabhu is so merciful to me that He has given me every opportunity to chant the Holy Names with little distraction caused to most living entities in this material world. But, even though this body is sick, the first qualification of chanting the Holy Names is "desire" to do so. One must possess within their hearts the desire to offer up to the Lord the time required to chant PROPERLY the Holy Names.
While I have chanted the Holy Names for many years, it was not until I came into the pure association of Shrila Gaurangapada and his most sublime teachings that the true desire to chant the Holy Names entered my heart. In his unlimited mercy, he sent to me his book "Maha-Mantra Yoga" which completely explained to my poor unintelligent mind the true importance of chanting, and the proper method of chanting. I believe that this desire was awoken by Shrila Gaurangapada for several reason, but the most important to my soul is stated in the Padma Purana. "Unless one is initiated by a bona fide spiritual master in a bonafide and authentic disciplic succession, the mantra he might have received is without any effect". While I completely follow the teachings of Shrila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, I did not receive his pure association nor his pure initiation into the Holy Names, this is where I believe my soul erred. But, this was rectified when I was initiated by Shrila Gaurangapada.
As I have said previously, the "desire" must be there to chant. In studing "Maha-Mantra Yoga", along with the Shri Chaitanya-Bhagavata, my understanding became deeper, and with Shrila Gaurangapada's pure association, became complete. For my own humble desire, Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Himself spoke to my heart through the teachings of Shrila Gaurangapada.
"Prabhu bale-"Jana, 'laksheshvara' bali kare? Prati-dina laksha-nama ye grahana kare". "Do you know who is a laksheshvara? He is someone who chants one laksha or 100,000 Holy Names (64 rounds of the Hare Krishna Maha-Mantra) everyday."
Shri Gaurasundera balibena--"Jini pratidina laksha-nama grahana karibena, tanharai grihe bhagavan sevita hana." Shri Gaurasundera spoke as follows--"The Supreme Personality of Godhead accepts service only in the home of those who chant one hundred thousand Names daily."
"Jini laksha-nama grahana karena na, tahara nikate haite bhagavan naivedya svikara-dvara seva-saubhagya pradana karena na." "Those who don't chant 100,000 Names (64 rounds) daily, are never awared the great fortune of rendering service to the Lord by offering Him naivedya (bhoga). This is because the Lord never accepts (svikara) their offerings."
The chanting of 100,000 Holy Names daily is an order directly from Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Himself, so how can we deny or refuse His demand. In my own humble case, I desire the Lord's personal association, so to have my hearts desire, I had to make the effort to chant the prescribed number of rounds daily. At first this was most difficult because of my health condition, and living in the most materialistic country in the world. I had to make a conscious decision to forsake all that this society I took this birth in, and its demands and replace these expectations with the desire for the Lord's association. I was not called by the Lord to satisfy society of man, but to satisfy the Lord in every endeavor, and to do this, I had to make the decision to chant as ordered by the Lord Himself.
First, one must look at one's daily routine. What is it that you do daily? Where is your time spent? Is your time spent wisely, or is it foolishly waisted? What are your persuites? What are you chasing in this world? If you are a house holder, then you will have to make the decision to tailor your materialistic persuites (making a living, family, society) with your spiritual persuites. But, I will tell you, your spiritual life MUST have presidence over your materialistic life. You must put the Lord first.
Love not sleep, for this is your greatest enemy. You naturally know how much sleep you require to function properly. Unless you have a medical condition where your body requires more sleep for its maintainence, then you need no more than six hours daily. If you are eating properly, following the four regulative principles, then you do not require above six hours of sleep.
Set your priorities. The Lord must be your first priority, nothing else. If you desire Him, then He will come to you. Its just that simple. If you desire His association, then you will find the time to spend with him. Look to your daily routine, what are you waisting time on? Television? Materialistic books? The opposite sex? Just sitting around in a vegitative state stareing at the wall with nothing logical passing through your mind? (the cat effect) You must be active both physically and mentally, so if you are not, then you will have to train your mind to be active to properly chant the Holy Names.
If you have several hours a day that are spiritually non-productive, then this is the time that you should be chanting the Holy Names. I rise at 3:00 am, take care of this bodies necessities, shower and pray. Then I go to my temple room and greet the Deities. Then I sit quietly and chant the Holy Names. I usually enter the Temple Room by 3:30, and will sit and chant until around 5:30AM. This has given me two hours of complete silence to chant before the world around me awakens. I will do mangal arati and read until about 6:30, then I prepare a small prasadam. After I have cleaned up from morning prasadam, I will again chant from 8:00 until around 10, so before 10AM, I have chanted around 4 hours.
In the afternoon, around 12:30, I will chant again for approximately 2 hours, so this has given me 6 hours of chanting time, inwhich time I have completed atleast 64 rounds.
You must understand, that there are days that my schedule is erratic due to medical appointments and also the time I spend on the internet answering emails. But, chanting a minimum of 64 rounds daily is my very first priority. If you truly desire to chant one laksha, then you will set aside the time to do so.
If you honestly look at how you spend your time, then you will realize how much time you waist daily on materialistic persuits. This is the time that you can use wisely in chanting the Holy Names. As you chant, things will simplify themselves and fall into place on their own accord. Life will simplify, but not at first, because Maya Devi will come calling and do everything She can to cause you to quit. If you stay with it, then Maya Devi will assit you, and will line everything up so that you can chant.

The world has progressed so rapidly over the last 10 years. In our lifetimes we have seen so advancement in so many areas. No one could have imagines 10 years ago what we know today.
Many people now identify with their minds and that brings a whole new set of problems to any faith or anyone trying to develop faith.
I would really like that there was some discussion amongst devotees about how such things as meditation and chanting and other spiritual aspects relate to what discoveries have been made in fields of psychology and things so that it would strengthen the faith and inspire others to take up mantra meditation or chanting.
It is interesting you mention that now many people identify with the mind and that brings a whole new set of problems to development of faith. I have found this very much ,personally. Slowly over time, through chanting and gaining more insight that we are not these subtle and gross bodies, I am coming to the understanding of the importance of surrender to Swami Gaurangapada"s teachings.
Birth after birth I have identified with the mind ,and due to this false ego, thought that I could figure out all I needed. Just recently I have had the realisation that this is not the case ,and infact only leads to more confusion ,doubts and suffering. The mind can be a centre for suffering ,or in contrast a place to relish bliss in thinking of beautiful GaurangaKrishna. I guess realising the true ego of service to the Lord can bring this lasting peace we all crave. Therefore I pray to surrender more.
On a personal level ,I have lived with a health condition for ten years which was highlighted by identification with the mind and body. I have found that slowly over the last years, chanting about, hearing about, and remembering the Lord, and understanding that I am not this mind/body but spirit soul has caused much peace and detachment.

I was feeling unhappy this morning. When I opened my email and saw the link to this slide show, seeing the beauty of Nityananda and Gauranga and Baladeva, Subhadra and Jaganatha cheered me up so much!

I have read the article on "Ideal House holder life" that is posted under your name.
At the end of the article I have read this one :

"But when the home becomes unfavorable for his service, he then becomes eligible to leave home. At that time the detachment he develops for his house through his devotional service is accepted."
The first statement that "when home becomes unfavourable for his service, then he becomes eligible to leave home".
I feel this is not the criteria that one has developed detachment. One may be having a difficult time to maintain family, and even for that reason also his devotional service may be hampered.
And if one has really become detached, still he need not feel home as unfavourable, as exhibited by many associates of Gauranga Mahaprabhu.
Since this is Kali-yuga, if a householder gives up his home on this pretext that he has become detached, without providing proper maintenance for his family members, the family members will fall in trouble. May be he is trying to escape from family due to problems.
May be that is the reason I feel acaryas have recommended that grhasthas may remain in family life and continue to act for the spiritual-welfare of family members first, before acting for the spiritual-welfare of the world. Only when one is sufficiently purified, and at the proper time & age should give up family life on superior order of guru or Krishna for the purpose of preaching.

After a certain time i went again to our pictures site at pictures.gaurangapada.com and i was watching the pictures of Your Deities. They are so nice and enchanting that i would like to humbly ask You to make for us avalaible a picture of higher resolution of Your Nitai-Gaura-Deities, that we can set them as our wallpaper or use them for our meditation.
