Dear devotees,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

So we had a friend who asked us why we chant mantrarajas when there is pancha tattva mantra available? It’s true that Pancha Tattva are so powerful just 3 of them carry right through the Hare Krishna rounds making them offenseless. But the sheer amount of mercy of the Nityananda Gauranga mantrarajas at our level is unbelievable and can only be experienced directly and I could personally see people’s spiritual advancement turn from a bullock cart into a rocket ship (Cheers…).

If one can ask how or why Nitaai Gaura when there is pancha tattva, I say that although logic may argue many things, it can never explain the personal experience we have all felt with them. Best proof of the pudding is in the eating itself and these names are chanted by even the perfect souls in the spiritual world.

In any case the Lord has so many infinite names among which there are so many varieties in each of His names, and whichever name we chant we align with the unique features of that name. When we chant Nitaai Gaura we align with the mercy feature, when we chant Pancha Tattva, they give us the complete picture of the Lord in all His manifestations and they give us the Hare Krishna maha mantra. And when we chant the Hare Krishna maha mantra — we align with His Absolute sweetness feature!

So we must never refuse another variety that the Lord offers to us because the names are full of all the forms, abodes, pastimes, qualities, etc…

Although all conceptions of Godhead are included in the Hare Krishna maha mantra, still the sheer mercy of the Nityananda Gauranga mantrarajas on the fallen souls as well as the eternally perfect souls is also there and is significant — the direct experience can show this — so how can that be explained? Actually this is achintya bheda-abhedha — simultaneous oneness as well as difference, beyond the reach of the mind and the senses.

I chanted Hare Krishna maha mantra for 5 years with Pancha Tattva all wavery and totally offensive — but they were so kind to lead me to the mantrarajas, who in turn changed my whole life and revealed the Pancha Tattva and Hare Krishna maha mantra again to me, this time they were in their proper pure form and they allowed me to chant them properly. So it comes full circle.

Although this is my own intimate realization, I just share it here for your benefit. Of course this cannot be forced on anyone, but the door is always open for everyone to enter. Although spiritually there is no difference between these 3 mantras, nevertheless there is still a massive difference on the material level in terms of mercy. And even spiritually chanting the respective Holy names, we see that the 3 mantras are not different from each other — and yet each name also has the Lord’s own variety and own unique stamp as well. And so this is the simultaneous oneness and difference between them and it is something that has to be experienced to be understood and cannot be argued by any logic.

So instead of all unnecessary arguments, I pray that people should just embrace the Lord as He reveals Himself to everyone in all His variety and appreciate the achintya bhedha-abhedha that inconceivable simultaneous oneness and difference that describes the Supreme Lord perfectly in a nutshell. What is so difficult about this bhakti that is so plain and simple love and mercy? Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Dear Srinath Prabhu, Nityanaananda ! Gauraanga ! Hare Krishna ! My humble obesisances !

Thank you for such a nice post. Also according to Chaitanya Bhagavat atleast 1000 names of Nityaananda and 1000 names of Gauraanga is required to be chanted daily to free us from our offenses in chanting the Hare Krishna mahamantra. Since chanting of the Pancha Tattva mantra is not recommended on beads atleast 10 rounds of Nityaananda and 10 rounds of Gauraanga is required to be chanted daily on beads along with the Hare Krishna Mahamantra to remove our offenses in chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra thus qualifying us to recieve Krishna Prema which is the actual goal of chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra. From this it is also easily understood that for the next 5000-7000 years devotees will be chanting Nityaananda, Gauraanga and the Hare Krishna Mahamantra together on beads.

    ys,
    Mihir.

Prabhu what u said is exactly right , the power of the NityanandaGauranga Mantrarajas is so great that it cannot be explained but can be felt from the moment when one starts chanting the Mantras ,from my personal experience i feel like deriving more energy for chanting the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra and HKMM becomes more sweeter after chanting Nityananda Gauranga Mantrarajas. This is b’cos of the mercy bestowed upon us by The Lordships Nityananda Gauranga by chanting the NityanandaGauranga Mantrarajas.I think every devotees should take up the chanting of Nityananda Gauranga Mantrarajas so that they can experience the sweetness of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra by the mercy of Nityananda Gauranga Mantrarajas.
    Your humble servant,
    Shridhara Dasa.
